| June Midwest Regional Pillar weekend in Chicago, IL |
|
Our June Midwest Regional Pillar weekend in Chicago, IL was a huge success! This was our first Regional Pillar weekend! The enthusiasm was carried over from our National Pillar Conference earlier this year. Apostle Orlofski and Bishop Morse quickly decided that our districts would be together by June of this year. The Pillars from the St. Louis, Milwaukee, Chicago and Texas districts traveled to Chicago and spent a weekend with Bishop Morse. They arrived Friday evening and had discussions and meetings all day Saturday. The morning was broken into prayer/bible reading and self growth presentations. The afternoon was filled with meaningful discussions after which they headed on the train to a Greek restaurant downtown Chicago. On Sunday the regional pillars invaded the Calumet City congregation. The local congregation welcomed the pillars with open arms. They were invited to join the local choir....it was really a festive congregation....and our brothers and sisters prepared a lunch for everyone. The joy that the pillar group brought to the congregation was felt and much appreciated. After fellowship the Bishop and his wife met with the group and sang a final hymn, the 'servant song'. The Bishop asked us to spread the word and let all the pillars know about this wonderful opportunity. As usual, it was hard to say good bye. The Regional pillars are planning a missionary trip to the Caribbean. Lots of great things are in the works. A big Thank you to the Chicago Pillars for planning and coordinating a very memorable and terrific weekend.
